While we certainly are appreciative of deposits and loans, it’s often overlooked how thankful we are for the relationships we have and the opportunities we have to be of service to others. Serving others allows us to build teamwork and use our gifts and talents to the best of our abilities while using them for the improvement of others. What a fulfilling role we get to play and we are thankful to our customers and communities for allowing us to serve!
Small businesses in our communities are very much the same – they strive each and every day to serve by providing goods and services while providing employment locally to our friends and neighbors. Not only are these businesses job creators and able to support employees, they are typically the ones involved in community charitable events, coaching teams, and serving on church and other community boards.
In addition to service from people we know, a Small Business Economic Impact Study notes that around two-thirds of every dollar spent at a small business gets reinvested back in the community! There is really no better economic way to support each other locally than by shopping locally. If you aren’t sure if a local business carries what you are looking for, call the business or call the Chamber office – don’t assume it’s not available! Don’t miss out on an opportunity to build relationships and support each other.
